Features Of Processor
Intel slowly but steadily prepping a 32nm six-core Gulftown-based Core i7 990X  processor  which would be released in Q1 2011..The processor is set to debut in just a few weeks, during September 2010. From what we managed to learn, the i7-990X is based on a new stepping of Intel's 32nm Gulftown core consisted out of six cores and additional six threads. The clock is upped from 3.33GHz to 3.46GHz, while the Turbo mode ticking at 3.6GHz. According to preliminary results we have received, you should have no problems in clocking this processor past 4.5GHz on air, and 5GHz on water should be granted.  The other six-core processor that is said to release before the 990X is the Core i7 970, a standard (non-XE, limited BClk multiplier) SKU that will be positioned in the upper-Performance segment, above current Core i7 quad-core SKUs. The Core i7 970 is slated for Q3 2010.

 Features Of Processor
The Intel Core i7-980X is based on the new semiconductor die “Gulftown” that incorporates six processing cores and a 12-megabyte L3 cache. The functioning of all these units in a monolithic silicon die was made possible by 32nm tech process. The same manufacturing process is partly used for the Clarkdale series but the Core i7-980X is the first product to apply it all the way from top to bottom. Thus, it is the Core i7-980X that is going to best exemplify the progress of the Nehalem microarchitecture. The recently announced Core i5 and Core i3 are a poor illustration because the distribution of CPU subunits in two semiconductor dies one of which is manufactured on 45nm tech process resulted in bottlenecks that had a negative effect on the consumer properties of the end products.
